Fairey Swordfish II

[BACK]

When compared to its contemporaries of 1939 the Swordfish appears to have been sadly outdated but still remained a viable torpedo-bomber right trough mid-1942. In fact, the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm didn't phase this a/c out of service until May 1945.This a/c type played an important role in the sinking of the Bismark.
